A 30-year old Roseburg man was jailed after allegedly menacing his father with a firearm on Sunday.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at around 4:15 p.m. 911 dispatchers were notified that 30-year old Aaron Hernandez arrived at his father’s residence in the 3700 block of Hooker Road. The suspect reportedly became upset with his father because he wasn’t allowed to come into the home. The report said Hernandez allegedly pulled a firearm from his waistband and pointed it at the victim.
O’Dell said the suspect left the residence and went to a home in the 3700 block of Joseph Street. Multiple law enforcement officers from DCSO, Roseburg Police and Oregon State Police responded to the address. After 2.5 hours of searching the property, multiple buildings, and vehicles, and contacting several individuals, Hernandez was taken into custody without incident. O’Dell said the firearm reportedly used was located.
Hernandez was charged with menacing, pointing a firearm at another and for a parole violation. He was held without bail.
