Music on the Half Shell hopes to begin its summer concert series on July 7th.
Organizer Clint Newell told News Radio 1240 KQEN that prior to the COVID-19 crisis an opening date had not been set. He said while the committee was in talks with several agents, no booking commitments had been made. Newell said given the current situation, the July start date has been selected, though the concerts could still start later if necessary. Music on the Half Shell normally begins in mid to late June.
Newell said given the current situation, “touring schedules have been turned upside down, so it will be a little while until we have accurate touring information”. He said several festivals have cancelled and that affects the booking strategy.
Newell told KQEN “regardless, we’re confident Music on the Half Shell will produce a full concert series this summer and we look forward to seeing everyone there”.
