A Sutherlin woman was hurt when her vehicle struck a tree on Thursday afternoon.
A report from Roseburg Police said at approximately 3:00 p.m. the 56-year old was headed southbound on Northwest Edenbower. As she passed through the intersection with Stewart Parkway, there were vehicles slowed in front of her. The report said the woman did not leave enough time to stop. She swerved to her right in order to avoid rear-ending the vehicles in front of her. Her vehicle jumped the curb and hit a large tree.
Both the driver and her 38-year old female passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Mercy Medical Center. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
The driver was cited for failure to maintain a lane.
