Staff with Greater Douglas United Way has announced that they granted $10,000 to the Friendly Kitchen/Meals on Wheels Roseburg from their COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.
Executive Director Bryan Trenkle said United Way knows that Meals on Wheels has had to radically change the way they provide services to the community, so it was critical that they receive the much-needed funds at this time. Trenkle said the extra funds will help ease the burdens that they are currently dealing with.
A release said Greater Douglas United Ways COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund has been established to help the local community with urgent needs as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those who want to be part of the fundraising effort, can make donations online at www.gduway.org. Checks can also be mailed to United Way at 702 Southeast Jackson in Roseburg, 97470. Donations can also be taken to any branch of Banner Bank.
The release said all funds raised will be used to help those in need. United Way will not charge any administrative expense on this fund.
