BLM TEMPORARILY CLOSES DEVELOPED RECREATION FACILITIES IN OREGON

March 27, 2020 10:20 a.m.
In accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state of Oregon public health officials, the Bureau of Land Management will temporarily close many of its developed recreation facilities to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
The BLM release said the closure includes all campgrounds and some day use sites, and restrooms. Trash pickup and sanitation services on most of these recreation facilities will be temporarily suspended.
The release said despite the closure, multiple opportunities remain for the public to enjoy the outdoors as long as visitors heed orders, guidance and the advice of local and state officials, and the CDC. BLM-managed trails and open spaces remain open across Oregon.
When using those trails and open spaces, social distancing recommendations should be observed to reduce the spread of COVID 19. Activities should be limited to members of individual families with the total number of people in a party at 10 participants or less. At all times, a distance of six feet or more from other people should be maintained.
