The owner of the long-vacant Rite Aid building in downtown Roseburg, is seeking to demolish a section of the building.
City of Roseburg Community Development Director Stuart Cowie said owner Tony Cedolini, who lives in San Jose, California, wants to demolish the former garden center, alley entrance cover, the breezeway that crosses Southeast Rose Street, and other miscellaneous features. Those are on the westside of the building. An application was filed in February.
Due to its age, the demolition request has to go before the Historic Resource Review Commission. That was scheduled to happen this Wednesday but that meeting was cancelled due to precautions being taken in light of the COVID-19 situation. Cowie said once that situation settles down a bit a new meeting will be scheduled.
