The Douglas Public Health Network will conduct a second round of limited drive-through testing Friday afternoon for potential COVID-19 patients.
A release from DPHN and the Douglas County Board of Commissioners said in order to be tested, residents must have an order from their physician or health care provider. The event is not open to the general public. The testing will be done at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The specimen will be flown to a Quest Lab for processing and results will be back in 2-4 days. Results will then be sent back to the provider that ordered it. DPHN is working to get more testing materials to allow for more of the drive-through clinics. A third one is being held next week at a time to be determined.
The COVID-19 Hotline remains open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. It is staffed by volunteer health care professionals who can answer questions from the public. Over 320 calls have been received so far. The number is 464-6550.
