UMPQUA TRANSIT BUSES RUNNING AS NORMAL

UTrans buses are running as normal at this time.
Cheryl Cheas, General Manager for the Umpqua Transit District, said they plan to continue running until they are either ordered to shut down or until they don’t have enough drivers available. At that point, schedules would be modified.
She said the primary change at this time, is the additional cleaning of commonly touched surfaces that is taking place. Cheas said typically that cleaning is done daily but now drivers are cleaning these surfaces multiple times throughout the day.
Cheas said a number of Dial-A-Ride providers have suspended service. That includes the City of Reedsport which has halted the service until April 1st to protect their elderly drivers. The City of Sutherlin and Umpqua Homes have also suspended service, according to Cheas. She said the City of Winston, Sunrise Enterprises, Umpqua Valley Disability Network and Mercy Express are still providing service.
Cheas said Umpqua Transit wants to ensure the health and safety of its passengers “while providing a critical link to our transit dependent population”.
