EMERGENCY MANAGMENT COLLECTING INFORMATION FROM SMALL BUSINESSES

March 17, 2020 3:40 a.m.
Douglas County Emergency Management is collecting information from small businesses in the county who may be suffering financially due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Emergency Manager Wayne Stinson said the information is being compiled and will be provided to the Oregon Office of Emergency Management in the event that Governor Brown requests assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Loan Program.
Stinson said the EIDL can provide low-interest working capital loans to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, and most private non-profit organizations. The loans cannot be made to governmental agencies, including tribes. Further information may be found at https://www.sba.gov/disaster-assistance/coronavirus-covid-19.
Those eligible for the program are asked to fill out the form found at: www.dcso.com/covid19_sba.pdf and then email it to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Stinson said there is no guarantee of funding at this time.
