TELEPHONE SERVICE OUTAGE AFFECTING 911

March 14, 2020 8:00 a.m.
A CenturyLink telephone service outage is affecting approximately 675 customers in the Drain and Yoncalla areas.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the outage may prevent residents in those areas from calling 911 from their landline telephones. He said CenturyLink is currently investigating the cause of the outage. There is no estimated time of repair at this time.
O’Dell said residents who are currently affected may be able to dial 911 from a cellular device in the event of an emergency. Both North Douglas Fire & EMS fire stations in Drain and Yoncalla are also staffed with personnel while the issue is being resolved.
O’Dell said residents wishing to check on the status of the telephone service outage should contact CenturyLink as the 911 dispatch center is unable to provide further information.
