ROSEBURG VA ANNOUNCES CHANGES ON VISITATION POLICY

March 12, 2020 3:55 a.m.
As part of national guidelines announced on Tuesday, there are changes in the policy regarding visiting patients at the Roseburg VA Medical Center.
All VA nursing homes have adopted a strict “no visitors” policy, meaning that no one is allowed to visit those residents. The only exception will be in “compassionate cases”, when veterans are in their last stage of life on hospice units. In those cases, visitation will be limited to a specific room only.
All VA nursing homes have suspended new admissions. Staff will be actively screened daily.
Tim Parish at the Roseburg VA told News Radio 1240 KQEN that everyone who enters the VA campus will be pre-screened when they check into a building. He said that means patients should allow for extra time when arriving for appointments.
Parish said the current visitation policy for outpatient and common areas which prohibits under age 12, remains in place.
