To help protect their patients from the COVID-19 virus, the Community Cancer Center is taking a number of preventative actions as prescribed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Executive Director Tammy Turner said the changes include:
*Temporary cancellation of all group meetings, classes, workshops and events to the exposure of close proximity encounters.
*Extra cleaning is being done to all surfaces in the building that have potential contact. This is being done throughout the day.
*Hand sanitizers can be found throughout the building. It is recommended to use hand sanitizers when entering and leaving the building.
*CCC patients or visitors with a 100.4F temperature or above who are experiencing respiratory symptoms and have an appointment, should call the CCC so they can assess the persons health situation and advise them.
*Those with appointments at the CCC should bring only essential healthy people with them.
*Those not feeling well while at the CCC should ask for a mask.
Medical Director Dr. Randy Moore said as of this date, there have not been any patients with the CCC that have had COVID-19 exposure. He said completing the prescribed cancer treatment is very important and can be a larger risk to the overall health of the patient, than the COVID-19 risk of exposure.
