Douglas County government has not made any changes at “the ground level” over concerns regarding COVID-19.
Tamara Howell told News Radio 1240 KQEN that County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer is monitoring any public health concerns closely and “is actively providing guidance to the Board of Commissioners”. Howell said “at the high level we are engaged in precautionary planning to ensure continuity of critical services” but said it has not affected regular operations.
Howell said the commissioners are reminding departments to plan for any potential work disruptions that may be caused by coronavirus. She said the operational level preparedness processes aren’t any different than how a bad flu season is handled. County employees are being reminded not to come to work sick, wash their hands and cover their coughs, according to Howell. She said things are “pretty much business as usual at the Douglas County Courthouse”.
Updates are expected as new information becomes available or if the situation changes.
