A driver was hurt, and received a citation, after a single-vehicle wreck Monday night on Highway 138E near Diamond Lake.
A report from the Oregon State Police, said the accident was reported at about 6:40 p.m. A trooper arrived and found that a sedan had left the roadway and jumped a snow bank before flipping end over end and landing on its top. The report said the trooper observed wine bottles alongside the vehicle. First responders stated they smelled the odor of alcohol while providing care to the single occupant of the vehicle. The 37-year old female driver was transported by helicopter to Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls.
The report said a Klamath Falls trooper later interviewed the driver and observed multiple indicators of impairment. The driver consented to performing further tests which indicated impairment, but did not give consent to a blood draw. The driver was cited for DUII and for refusing the blood test.
The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
