A Yoncalla man was jailed after a trespass incident on Friday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 5:50 p.m. a resident reportedly found 51-year old Matthew Olmsted in their house in the 400 block of Charles Street in Yoncalla. The suspect was not invited and the resident did not know him. The report said that Olmsted was highly intoxicated and initially refused to leave. About ten minutes later, the man did exit the home, and once outside, reportedly tried to slap the person who had confronted him.
The man was taken into custody later and while being put in the police vehicle, he allegedly attempted to kick the deputy.
Olmsted was charged with first degree criminal trespass, attempting to commit a Class C felony, interfering with a police officer and for harassment. He was initially detained on $21,250 bail.
