A driver was taken to the hospital and traffic was disrupted for hours, after a vehicle ran into and seriously damaged a signal control box at the intersection of Oregon 42 and Main Street in Winston, on Thursday afternoon.
The single-vehicle accident happened just after 3:30 p.m. when a car went through the intersection and slammed into the box. Debris from the wreck broke a window on the nearby building.
Crews from the Oregon Department of Transportation worked until around 8:30 p.m. rebuilding the box while flaggers controlled the intersection.
The driver’s condition was not known as of Thursday night.
