A hit and run crash took place Sunday morning on Interstate Five near the exit to the Douglas County Fairgrounds and an investigation is underway.
A report from Oregon State Police said at about 11:15 a.m. a sedan reportedly changed lanes while headed northbound and hit a second vehicle but did not stop. The report said the victim provided pictures of the vehicle which caused the accident, including photos of the driver and a passenger, and the vehicle’s license number.
The report said the registered owner of the vehicle told a trooper that she slept late and did not drive her vehicle until 2:30 p.m. After seeing the photos, the owner identified other family members as being the people in the car when the accident happened.
The report said the trooper arranged to meet with one of them the next day.
