Multiple agencies responded to help two people in a water rescue incident on Wednesday afternoon.
Undersheriff Jeff Frieze of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said two boaters were stuck in the river near the Happy Valley Boat Ramp off of Poteet Avenue in Green. The report came in at about 3:45 p.m. Frieze said the Oregon State Police responded with a flat bottom boat, and assisted the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol. Douglas County Fire District No. 2 responded with a raft as well.
Frieze said the boaters were returned safely to the shore and the boat was later moved to a nearby property to be recovered by the owner on Thursday.
No further information was available regarding the incident.
