Umpqua Valley Gymnastics is hosting the annual Annie Patterson Riverside Classic Gymnastics Meet this Saturday.
The event will be held in Douglas Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. and the first session warm-ups will begin at 8:30 a.m. Organizer Dana Cox said teams are coming from all over the state including clubs in Grants Pass, Eugene, Medford, Ashland, Coos Bay and several other locations.
Cox said over 200 gymnasts will participate in five levels of competition. She said all profits from the event support the local group and are used to purchase new equipment. Cox said the team is a non-profit organization and takes care of all aspects of the meet, along with help from students at the Wolf Creek Job Corps in Glide.
Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12, with kids under age 6 admitted for free. A family pass is available for $20. There will be a concession stand and t-shirts will be available for purchase.
