An eight-year old child was hit by a car and went to the hospital on Wednesday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 2:25 p.m. an eighteen- year old Myrtle Creek man was driving north on Circle Drive in Green and cut the corner as he turned onto Hebard Avenue. The child was crossing the street at the stop sign and was halfway across the street when the vehicle ran into him. The child sustained minor injuries and was transported by a family member.
The report said a nearby residence had a surveillance system which captured the entire incident. The driver was cited for careless driving, failure to stop for a pedestrian and for driving uninsured.
