FOUR CHAPLAINS SERVICE SET FOR FEBRUARY 8TH

January 30, 2020 3:30 a.m.
Local veteran’s leaders are presenting the Four Chaplains service on Saturday February 8th.
Organizer Jim Little said the 8th annual event will be the largest service that has been presented locally so far. 12 people will be inducted into the Four Chaplains Legion of Honor. The event will include a posthumous award to Mary Kruysman, widow of Dirk Kruysman. Little said Kruysman was a well-known and respected member of the veteran’s community who passed away in August of 2016. Kruysman was one of the founders of the Douglas County Veterans Forum and a leader in the local honor guard that conducted military honors at countless veteran’s funerals in the community.
Little said all the inductees are outstanding leaders from various walks of life locally and have all been approved by the special Four Chaplains Chapel Committee in Pennsylvania.
The service will be held at the American Legion Post 16 building on Oak Street near downtown Roseburg. It will begin at 11:30 a.m.
