The group, sponsored by the Umpqua Symphony Association, will perform in the Rose Theatre at Roseburg High School.
Dr. Mark Rockwood will lead three orchestras to present a wide variety of musical selections with pieces from many different time periods. At the end of the concert, DCYO’s Philharmonic Orchestra will collaborate with Roseburg High’s Wind Ensemble, directed by Branden Hansen, to perform two pieces for full orchestra. They include “Millennium” by Richard Meyer, winner of a 1998 composition contest, and “A Pirate’s Legend” by Soon Hee Newbold.
Admission to the concert is free but non-perishable items to benefit the food bank program of the United Community Action Network will be accepted. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m.
