In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
The Umpqua Valley Arts Association is hosting a free ceramics workshop on Wednesday night.
Dr. Raino Isto will lead the event. He is an instructor at Mott College, an editor for ARTMargins Online and an independent curator. In the workshop, he will demonstrate the art of making miniature ceramics and talk about form, concept, and scale.
Those attending will see miniature pots created before their eyes, discover new artistic techniques and strategies, and witness both thrilling successes and adject failures.
The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will be held at the Clay Place behind the main Arts Center building. Call 672-2532 for more information.
