Staff with the United Community Action Network have released more information about next Wednesday’s 2020 Point in Time Homeless Count.
The organization along with volunteers, is attempting to count all people, both sheltered and unsheltered that are experiencing homelessness. Those being counted can go to nearly two dozen locations around the county, where they can take a five-minute confidential survey collected on a phone, get some food, and obtain essential winter supplies as well.
Locations where the homeless are being counted include:
In the Roseburg area:
*The VA south gate across from Eagles Landing from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
*Parking lot of the former K-Mart store on Stewart Parkway from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
*Roseburg Dream Center on Southeast Lane from 10:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
South Douglas County:
*Ray’s Food Place in Green from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
*Winston Food Pantry on Thompson Street from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
*Myrtle Creek Food Pantry from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
*Pioneer Park in Canyonville from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In North Douglas County:
*Bart’s Market in Oakland from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
*Metz Hill Rest Area northbound from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
*Living Hope Outreach in Drain from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
*Yoncalla Market from 12:45 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
*Metz Hill Rest Area southbound from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
*Saint Francis Church in Sutherlin from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In East Douglas County:
*Idleyld Store from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
*Glide Helping Hands from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
*Winchester Post Office from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In West Douglas County:
*Elkton Butterfly Pavilion from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
*Project Blessing in Reedsport from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
*Winchester Bay from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
