In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
The Umpqua Valley Youth Orchestra will perform its winter concert on Tuesday January 28th.
It will take place at 7:00 p.m. in Jacoby Auditorium at Umpqua Community College. Over 160 musicians will be participating in the family friendly concert. Selections from the musicals Fiddler on the Roof and Samson and Delila will be featured, along with pieces from a number of classical artists. Featured soloists will be Taylor Bennet on violin and Mya Snyder on cello. The concert is free with donations accepted.
UVYO is a local non-profit organization providing training and musical opportunities for students ages 6 and up. The yearly fee for participating is $80, with instruments available for a low rental fee.
