A Roseburg man was jailed on burglary and theft counts on Sunday.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. a deputy contacted the 21-year old man at a home in the 3300 block of Carnes Road in Green regarding a separate incident.
Jacob Hayter was the suspect in a previous burglary case and already had been interviewed about it. The report said the suspect admitted to entering a house and stealing money while he knew the homeowners were gone. The man allegedly said that he used a screwdriver to enter the residence.
Hayter was held for two counts of first-degree burglary and one count of second-degree theft. He was also held for a probation violation.
