Two highways in Oregon are closed at the California border as of Thursday morning.
Information from the Oregon Department of Transportation said that U.S. Highway 199, also known as the Redwood Highway, is closed from the border to the intersection of California 197, due to downed trees and powerlines because of the snow in the Smith River Canyon.
U.S. Highway 97, also called The Dalles-California Highway is closed due to snow and poor driving conditions south of Dorris and into the Weed/Mt. Shasta area.
Drivers should expect severe winter driving conditions and delays on Thursday. Travel is discouraged, according to ODOT.
