Douglas County is updating its Community Wildfire Protection Plan and a series of meetings is being held to gather input.
A release from the Douglas County Planning Department said that CWPP is a plan designed collaboratively that identifies wildland fire hazards, prioritizes measures to reduce those hazards and recommends ways for homeowners and communities to reduce ignitability of structures in areas of the county that have been identified as wildland urban interface.
As part of the update, planners will collaborate with homeowners, fire departments, state and local officials and other agencies to address the specific needs in the community, inform decision makers and guide interventions that protect life, property and infrastructure from fire.
Additional meetings will be held:
*Wednesday at the Glide Rural Fire District
*Thursday at the MAC Center in Salmon Harbor
*Thursday January 23rd at Winston City Hall
*Tuesday January 28th at the Yoncalla Community Center.
