A Winter Weather Advisory and a Winter Storm Warning are in effect through Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. for much of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said two more systems will impact the region through Tuesday. Significant snow will begin around 2,000 feet Monday before snow levels rise briefly Monday evening. Snow levels will then fall to the valley floor Monday night at some locations. Snow will continue to accumulate through Tuesday before tapering off by Tuesday evening.
The Winter Weather Advisory is for central Douglas County above 2,000 feet. Four to eight inches of snow is expected. This includes Tiller and the Interstate Five passes south of Canyonville.
The Winter Storm Warning is for Crater Lake, Diamond Lake and the south-central Oregon Cascades. An additional two to three feet of snow is forecast. Winds are expected to gust as high as 55 miles per hour over exposed terrain.
Travel at higher elevations will be very difficult to impossible. Patchy blowing snow is expected to significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down trees and power outages are possible.
