A Winter Storm Warning for Crater Lake, Diamond Lake and all of the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains has been extended through Sunday night at 10:00 p.m.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said heavy snow is expected with an additional accumulation of two to three feet. Higher amounts are possible in some locations. Winds are expected to gust as high as 55 miles per hour over exposed terrain.
Forecasters said travel will be very difficult to impossible. Patchy blowing snow is expected to significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring down trees, making power outages possible.
Those who must travel should keep tire chains, a flashlight, blankets, food, water, medications and a fully charged phone with them.
