Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office have a DUII High Visibility Enforcement event running through Thursday.
Sergeant Mark Norris said it is being held during this time which is commonly associated with drinking and driving. He said the goal is to prevent deaths, injuries, and property damage caused by DUII drivers, by removing them from the roadways.
Those who suspect that they see a DUII driver should report them to 911 immediately.
Norris said the overtime shifts are being funded by a grant from the Oregon Department of Transportation and the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association.
