ROSEBURG WOMAN JAILED AFTER HIGH SPEED CHASE AND VEHICLE WRECK

A Roseburg woman was jailed following a police chase and a vehicle wreck early Friday morning.
Information from the Oregon State Police said at about 2:00 a.m. a Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a violation on southbound Interstate Five. The deputy pursued the vehicle and at times speeds reached 100 miles per hour. The report said the driver took the south Sutherlin exit and lost control when trying to get back on the freeway.
The vehicle rolled on its top with both occupants inside. They were taken to Mercy Medical Center for minor injuries. The driver, 37-year old Jamie Hamlin was initially charged with attempting to elude, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. After arraignment, she was detained on $115,000 bail.
