RAIN APPARENTLY LED TO TWO WRECKS IN THE SAME AREA.

It appears that the rain contributed to two wrecks in the same area of Interstate Five on Saturday.
A report from Oregon State Police said that at about 4:50 p.m. the northbound sedan driven by a 16-year old male from Amboy, Washington crashed when the driver lost control under the wet road conditions about a mile north of the Scotts Valley exit. His vehicle struck the center concrete barrier and then veered across both northbound lanes of travel before coming to rest in a ditch on the right-hand shoulder of the roadway. The sedan sustained heavy left side damage and had to be towed away. The driver was cited for failure to drive within a lane.
At about 7:15 p.m. the sedan operated by a 21-year old man wrecked when the driver also apparently lost control and hydroplaned in the same section of the freeway. The car went through an Oregon Department of Transportation fence. The report said the driver was allegedly speeding.
No one was apparently hurt in either crash.
