DUII HIGH VISBILITY ENFORCEMENT EVENT UNDERWAY

December 23, 2019 3:30 a.m.
Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office are continuing a DUII high visibility enforcement event through January 2nd.
Sergeant Mark Norris said overtime shifts are being funded using a DUII grant from the Oregon Department of Transportation and the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association. Norris said the goal with the high visibility events is to heighten patrols on days or weekends that are commonly associated with drinking and driving. He said this will hopefully prevent deaths, injuries and property damage caused by DUII drivers, by removing them from the roadways.
Those who suspect they see a DUII driver should call 911.
