A Sutherlin man died in a crash Friday afternoon on Highway 138W, approximately 3 miles west of Sutherlin.
Captain Tim Fox of Oregon State Police said troopers and emergency personnel responded to the wreck just after 4:00 p.m. Fox said a preliminary investigation revealed that the sedan driven by 37-year old Corydon Stillwell left the roadway and struck a tree. Stillwell sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The Sutherlin Fire Department, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted OSP at the accident scene.
