Power was restored shortly before 8:00 a.m. Friday to nearly 400 coastal area customers of Douglas Electric Cooperative who had been in the dark since about 4:30 a.m.
Todd Munsey of the utility said electricity is back on for residents of the North Tenmile Lake, Scholfield Road, Deans Creek and Highway 38 areas.
Munsey said some crews were out all night as high winds and heavy rain caused outages in the Reedsport area at around 10:00 p.m. Thursday night. The original outage affecting about 145 members was fixed at about 4:00 a.m. only to have more outages a short time later.
Munsey said strong winds continue on and near the coast Friday. Douglas Electric customers can go to www.douglaselectric.com to check on outages in their service area.
