DREAM CENTER WARMING CENTER TO OPEN FOR CHRISTMAS EVE

December 18, 2019 9:20 a.m.
The Roseburg Dream Center Warming Center will be open on Christmas Eve regardless of the forecast.
Organizer Christopher Hutton said due to space limitations, dinner will be limited to those spending the night. Dinner will start at 7:00 p.m. with the doors closing at 10:45 p.m. Hutton is expecting that up to 75 homeless people will spend Christmas Eve at the Dream Center.
Hutton said a family style Christmas dinner and a movie are planned for the evening.
The Dream Center will be open for donations of food and gift items on Monday December 23rd from 9:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and on Christmas Eve starting at 5:00 p.m. Home cooked meals are allowed, so Hutton is hoping that those planning their own Christmas dinner will make something extra to bring to the Dream Center.
The facility is also in need of Christmas gift items in the form of supplies to hand out Christmas morning. Gifts can include sub-freezing sleeping bags, tents, brown tarps, gloves, socks, hand warmers, and rechargeable cell phone battery packs. Hutton said they can always use donations of men’s pants and sweat tops and bottoms so that people can change out of their wet clothes when they come in for the night.
Hutton said blessing bags are a popular gift. They can include items like: large Ziplock bags, chap stick, packages of tissues, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant sticks, combs, soap, snack foods and more.
The Dream Center is at Foundation Fellowship, at 813 Southeast Lane in downtown Roseburg.
