A Roseburg man was captured by a Roseburg Police K9 on Monday night.
An RPD report said at about 9:15 p.m. 40-year old Robert Mauer was reported to be near Elmer’s Restaurant, just off of Garden Valley Boulevard. The report said he had an active parole warrant for dangerous drugs. Mauer allegedly ran from officers and hid in a backyard on Eden. K9 Axel responded and tracked to where the suspect had concealed himself underneath some old furniture. Mauer refused to come out so Axel performed a biting capture and pulled the man out into the open where he was taken into custody.
Mauer was charged with the warrant and for interfering with a police officer. He was detained without bail.
