With plenty of rain expected later this week, forecasters at the National Weather Service have issued a Flood Potential Outlook.
A statement from the NWS said significant rises and potential flooding on rivers and streams in Douglas County is possible. Also impacted will be Coos, Curry, Jackson and Josephine counties.
Moderate to heavy rain is expected. The coast and northern counties seem most likely to receive the largest rainfall totals, according to forecasters. The Coquille River may reach flood stage between Friday and Saturday.
The statement said that the exact scenario for flooding remains uncertain. Warnings and watches may be issued by the National Weather Service if the situation worsens.
