A Camas Valley man is in jail following a child sexual abuse investigation by detectives with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell said in late November, the DCSO Investigations Division was contacted regarding possible sexual crimes against a child. O’Dell said detectives conducted a thorough investigation and learned that 37-year old Jeffrey Herberger had sexually assaulted a minor child that was known to him.
On Wednesday, Herberger was interviewed by detectives and subsequently arrested. He was detained on charges of third-degree sexual abuse and harassment. Two charges of first-degree sex abuse has been added and bail has been raised to $50,000.
