Two people were taken to the hospital following a three-vehicle wreck in Sutherlin on Tuesday afternoon.
Captain Kurt Sorenson of the Sutherlin Police said just before 1:30 p.m. a 68-year old Sutherlin woman was driving northbound on East Central, approaching Calapooia when she reportedly failed to yield at a red light. The driver crashed into a pickup operated by a 58-year old woman, also from Sutherlin. Sorenson said the first driver was turning south onto Calapooia when the accident happened.
The first vehicle pushed the pickup into an unloaded log truck that was stopped at the light at Calapooia. That truck was operated by a 68-year old Oakland man. The first two drivers were transported to Mercy Medical Center complaining of neck pain. They were treated and released according to a hospital spokesperson. The other driver was apparently not hurt.
The pickup had to be towed from the scene.
