The Umpqua Valley Amateur Radio Club will be sponsoring a federally recognized amateur radio testing session on Wednesday December 11th in room 310 of the Douglas County Courthouse.
A release from the group said testing will be offered for Technician, General and Amateur Extra classifications. Cost for the testing session class is $15. Pre-registration is not required.
UVARC offers testing sessions every month on the second Wednesday, except during July and August. Testing is done by federal recognized volunteer examiners. For those who pass, the test results, are submitted to the Federal Communications Commission, which issues the radio licenses.
UVARC will offer a General Class license course, beginning in January.
