A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect above 2,500 feet until 4:00 p.m. Wednesday while a Winter Weather Advisory is in place above 1,000 feet until 10:00 a.m. Wednesday for central Douglas County.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected above 2,500 with up to an additional 3 inches of snow above 1,000 feet.
The Warning includes Canyon Mountain pass on Interstate Five, portions of the Tiller-Trail Highway southeast of Tiller and other high elevation locations. The Advisory is for areas in the county between 1,000 feet and 2,500 feet including portions of the Umpqua Basin near Canyonville.
Forecasters said travel will remain very difficult to impossible at times. Strong winds and heavy snow could create near white-out conditions. The wind could also cause downed trees and power outages.
