MAN HURT IN OAKLAND AREA WRECK

An Elkton man was hurt in a single vehicle wreck in the Oakland area on Monday night.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at 6:15 p.m. 76-year old Harold Poling was in the 5000 block of Bullock Road when he reportedly swerved to miss a deer. The report said his car got stuck on a tree stump and nearly went off the embankment and down into the river. The driver was transported to Mercy Medical Center as a trauma entry. He was treated and released according to a hospital spokesperson.
The report said the crash is under investigation, Alcohol appears to be a contributing factor according to the report.
