An 88-year old Riddle woman was hospitalized after the vehicle she was in hit a tree on Saturday afternoon.
A report from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said at about 2:50 p.m. an 86-year old man was driving westbound in the 1300 block of Canyonville Riddle Road with his wife as the passenger. The report said the couple’s dog jumped from the back seat into the driver’s lap. The man was unable to control the vehicle and it left the roadway before striking the tree. The driver was not injured but the woman was having chest pain.
Hazel Cope was taken to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance. She was treated and released.
