Thanksgiving travel trouble may be brewing in parts of Oregon.
Information from the National Weather Service said confidence is high for accumulating snow on mountain passes above 3,500 feet in western Oregon. Confidence is moderate for the same situation on the east side.
Forecasters said current data points to a weak front with light rain and light mountain snow on Sunday and Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday a stronger storm is likely with rain and mountain snow above 2,500 feet. For Thanksgiving and the day after, another storm system is possible, with the snow level between 2,500 and 3,500 feet.
Those planning to travel over the upcoming holiday should monitor forecasts closely as details become clearer. Drivers should allow extra time to reach their holiday destination. Those planning to travel at elevations above 2,500 feet should have a winter travel kit.
