South Umpqua School District will host its third annual fine dining event on December 5th at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Tri-City Elementary.
Information from the District said the invitation-only event is only for fifth grade students at that school. Along with their parents or guardians, they will enjoy a four-course meal served on fine china with table linens and place settings added to the special occasion. The release said students will learn exceptional table manners, place settings, and how to properly converse at the dinner table. At the end of the lesson, they will have the chance to showcase their skills during the meal.
Sodexo manages the South Umpqua School District nutrition program and will be providing the meals at no charge for the students as a learning opportunity.
