Three people were arrested by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in a south county burglary case early Sunday morning.
The DCSO report said just before 3:00 a.m. units responded to the Les Schwab store on Old Pacific Highway for an alarm. The report said a man was observed inside the fencing of the business. While attempting to find and detain that man, another man was detained after a short foot pursuit. The man had a backpack with stolen tools inside it according to the report. Another man was located walking away from the scene. He also had a backpack with stolen tools in it. A short time later, the third subject was located inside the fence of the business.
35-year old Bruce Cooke, 33-year old Justin Johnson and 28-year old Cody Hayter were jailed on charges that included first degree theft, and second degree counts of burglary and criminal mischief. Johnson and Hayter were later released while Cooke remained in custody on a warrant.
