Green Elementary fifth graders will get a hands-on experience on table etiquette while enjoying a four-course meal on Thursday.
Roseburg Public Schools will host its sixth annual fine dining event at 5:30 p.m. in the Green cafeteria. A release from Roseburg Public Schools said each student can bring a parent or guardian to enjoy the meal. Fine china, tables decked in linen, and flatware and glassware sets will also come with the dinner.
Students, who have been encouraged to dress for the occasion, will first experience an interactive lesson on table manners, place settings and table conversation. They will then have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills throughout the meal.
Sodexo manages the Roseburg school district nutrition program and will be providing the meal at no charge, as a learning opportunity for the students.
