Echo Every Child will have an Explore Fostering Event on Monday night.
A release from the group said that the need for foster care in Douglas County is great. With over 400 children in the county needing at least one day in foster care, and less than 250 certified foster homes to place them in, the community lacks the needed number of foster homes to ensure that children are placed with the most strategic family for their safety and well-being.
Explore Fostering allows those interested to ask questions and learn about fostering from local foster parents, and about the types of care that is available. That includes short term and long term fostering, relief activities and becoming an adoptive family.
The event will be held at 6:00 p.m. at New Hope Church on Old Highway 99 South between Green and Winston.
